Hotel la Montagne, La Clusaz

This distinctive chalet-hotel, with its southern exposure, is all about the location with panoramic views of the Aravis mountain chain.

Hotel la Montagne is in the heart of the authentic French resort of La Clusaz, ideally located to enable you to walk to all the facilities in this buzzy village, including several ski lifts.

There are numerous bars, cafés and restaurants close by, some lovely shops selling gifts and regional produce, as well as an abundance of places selling ski/snow boarding gear and winter apparel.

There is also a small cinema, an ice-rink and a semi-outdoor heated swimming pool with open views to the mountains beyond, so there is plenty to enjoy during your stay in La Clusaz.

In addition, the free ski-bus stop is also just across the road from the hotel if you want to venture further afield in La Clusaz. Or if you fancy a total change of scene and new mountains to conquer, the lift pass for the full Aravis ski domain is included in your holiday package, which gives you access to La Clusaz, nearby Merdassier/Manigod, as well as Le Grand Bornand.

The neighbouring resort of Le Grand Bornand is just 10 minutes away via the free interstation bus which leaves from the Gare Routière (bus station), a short walk from the hotel.

Our recommended ski hire partner is right by the lifts and they offer heated lockers to their customers, so you can simply come down off the piste into the centre of the village, deposit your skis / boots in the locker overnight and you’re all set to enjoy the après-ski or to make the short walk up a slight hill back to the hotel in your normal winter footwear.

Hotel la Montagne offers a good level of accommodation, and in particular a friendly and professional service from Karine, Magalie and the team.

Hotel la Montagne terrace with mountain views
La Montagne comes highly rated by previous guests for their welcoming and attentive staff, as well as the hotel’s excellent restaurant, Le Petit Montagnard, with its regional cuisine.

The sunny outdoor terrace and the open dining room each have views to the mountains, plus there’s a cosy bar with a roaring fire, all of which help to make this hotel a great place to socialise with fellow skiers, whether you’re in a couple, a family or a group, making it a holiday to truly remember.

View from Hotel la Montagne, La CLusaz

Hotel La Montagne is a 2 star hotel with a friendly and welcoming feel. It has had some recent tasteful renovations and presents a very welcoming reception, restaurant and bar area complete with piano and games room.

Hotel la Montagne – Rooms

It has 27 comfortable yet relatively simple rooms, each with a private bath or shower room, with a hair dryer, satellite TV, free WiFi and telephone.

Some rooms look out across the village centre to the ski slopes and mountains, whilst others face away from the village but most still have mountain views.

Hotel la Montagne – Social Facilities

Guests can relax by the roaring fire in the hotel’s cosy lounge bar with board games and puzzles, and there is also a TV area.

Alternatively, if you wish to make the most of the expansive views across the village and the mountains, you can enjoy the sunny terrace outside, or wrap up warm in the evening to watch village life go by, and follow the bright lights of the ‘piste bashers’ as they groom the pistes ready for the following day.

Ski storage is available onsite, as well as at your ski hire shop in the village. There is also a room to change in/out of your ski gear on your last day, helping you to make the most of your ski short break.

Hotel la Montagne – Food

Your package includes half-board accommodation, with meals being provided in the hotel’s restaurant, Le Petit Montagnard, which serves a continental buffet breakfast and a 3-course evening meal using local and regional produce.

Hotel la Montagne – Location & Skiing Access

The hotel is located close to the centre of the village of La Clusaz, and a short walk from several ski lifts. Just an hour’s airport transfer from Geneva, and near to the main free ski-bus stop, where you can catch regular buses to the neighbouring resort of Le Grand Bornand. From here, you can ski another 90km of piste at no extra cost, as the full Aravis region lift pass is included in your package.

Our recommended ski hire partner is very close to the main lift in La CLusaz, which means you can leave your skis/boots in their lockers overnight and enjoy the apres-ski without having to think about your gear, before the slight uphill walk back to the hotel at the end of the day.

There are also plentiful restaurants, bars, cafes, clubs, ATMs, post office, supermarkets and several ski gear and regional produce / gift shops nearby – from a few seconds to a few minutes walk.
