Latest Snow Reports
21st March 2012
Gorgeous sunny blue skies over La Clusaz with temperatures a few degrees warmer than yesterday. Most runs still open and snow coverage remains excellent even on the lower slopes. Balme and Aiguille skiing superbly even late in the afternoon. Other slopes softening throughout the course of the day but low skier numbers mean the slopes aren’t getting too cut up. Fantastic skiing but a few degrees cooler would be nice!
11th February 2012
Very cold temperatures but sunshine, pristine slopes and surprisingly few people on the mountain made for a perfect days skiing.
8th February 2012
Much warmer today and bright blue skies to go with it. Perfect on-piste cruising conditions with the increase in temperature. All the resort open, no lift queues and deserted slopes ahead of the French holidays at the weekend. A truly fabulous days skiing all round. Balme and Aiguille especially are in superb condition. Last chance for a few weeks to enjoy some of the best skiing conditions available.
1st February 2012
All yesterday’s fresh snow on-piste has been groomed with just a touch of fresh powder on top making for fantastic skiing conditions. Off-piste remains deep and incredibly light due to the low overnight temperatures. Visibility vastly improved on yesterday and the sun even made the occasional appearance. No lift queues anywhere as is typical for January and all the resort is open. A quality day’s skiing! Temperature dropping consistently throughout the day. Tomorrow could be a cold one!
25th January 2012
3-4 inches of fresh snow on all pistes and cold overnight temperatures made for a great days skiing. Off-piste remains hard under the fresh snow. Visibility was reduced, particularly in the afternoon, by low cloud. Forecasted blue skis never materialised. All the resort open and typical low skier numbers resulted in no lift queues anywhere.
21st January 2012
Powder, powder, powder! Fresh snow has given us some incredible conditions with a perfect base – what more could we ask for!
11 th January 2012
100% of resort open. Slopes hard in the early morning but softened quickly in the sun. Off piste heavy but plentiful (Aiguille and Balme especially). Slopes very quite since new year skiers have departed. No lift queues anywhere. Glorious sunshine all day but relative low temperatures kept snow conditions great.
