Introduction to La Clusaz Ski Resort
La Clusaz is becoming widely recognised by those in the know as one of the undiscovered gems of the Alps.
Despite being less known by the British, the area has long been a popular weekend destination for the French and Swiss who rate the skiing and village facilities highly.
With such great skiing and snowboarding, beautiful villages and convenient location under an hour away from Geneva airport, we are glad to discover their secret.
Read on to find out more about the village and the best places to ski and snowboard in La Clusaz. If you like the sound of it, our full service 4 day ski weekends, 3 day midweeks and week long ski holidays are the most convenient way to discover La Clusaz.
La Clusaz in Summary
You can find out more in the separate pages, but in a nutshell, this is what you can expect on a ski holiday in La Clusaz:
- excellent resort for beginners and intermediates as well as plenty of challenging terrain for advanced skiers and snowboarders;
- good potential for off-piste and extreme skiing;
- resort full of traditional Savoyard charm;
- transfer time from Geneva airport of less than an hour;
- great choice of “non-skiing” activities;
- lively après-ski but not overwhelmed by Brits;
- Good selection of mountain restaurants, bars and cafés.
La Clusaz Village
The traditional centre of La Clusaz, centred around the church and village square, has maintained its character and holds a special atmosphere. There is always something going on, as La Clusaz plays host to many amazing (and some slightly crazy) events throughout the holiday season.
You can ski right down into the village at the end of the day, and when you do, La Clusaz is well served for bars and cafés in which to unwind and relax, with several venues ideal for that ‘cheeky beer’ as you watch the sun set. For the evening there is a wide choice of lively and friendly bars.
The ski resort of La Clusaz is supported by nearby Le Grand Bornand to make up the 220km Aravis ski region, both of which are covered on the area lift pass (included in all our packages).
Of course, we might be biased, so don’t just take our word for it, read what the Financial Times had to say about La Clusaz a few years ago.
