Meet The Team!
Paul Jess Tom Maya Erica Eric and Jane Amanda Jon Jack and Sheila Maria Natalie Fallon Victoria Dougie Dave Alex Caroline Ian

Paul, Karibuni and Ski Weekender’s founder, used to be a snowboarder but is now to be found more often on skis. Although largely office based these days he enjoys grabbing a pair of skis whenever he gets the chance to take guests out hosting in both resorts. He’s hoping to enjoy some skiing with guests in Samoens this year. A fan of a cheeky beer of an evening, he is often in the lodge bar chatting before dinner or in Chalet Caroline tending the log fire!
Jess works in the office ensuring that the chalet team knows what’s happening when and who should be staying where, as well as chatting with guests and ensuring they enjoy their stay. She enjoys skiing in both resorts, occasionally scaring herself by playing with the boys in the powder, and stopping to enjoy a hot chocolate with a good view - she can show you the best restaurants on the mountain.
Tom is the person you'll speak to or email about booking your ski holiday with us. When he manages to escape the office, Tom is a keen snowboarder who enjoys getting out and about off piste to showcase his latest toys and gadgets. He's also our resident weather man - if you need to know the forecast, ask Tom - scarily he's normally right!

After spending a couple of years in Australia working on dive boats, Maya came back to Europe to work a winter season in the Lodge as a chalet host. She enjoyed it so much she then just couldn’t leave! She now splits her time between the office and other duties such as ski hosting and driving. She loves skiing and is always up for a mountain adventure!
Erica joined the office team in 2011 to make sure all our receipts are in order and the cash boxes balance, amongst other things. Not a cent leaves the office without Erica knowing about it! You’ll know her by her lovely Irish accent. New to skiing she’s coming on well – even if she thinks she isn’t. This year she’ll conquer Piste 2000 for sure!
Our experienced Chef team in the Aravis Lodge are looking forward to their 3rd winter season with us preparing more delicious food for our guests. They have worked together in many kitchens including the famous Betty's Tea Rooms in York - hence the great cakes from Jane. Cheerful and bubbly our chefs keep everyone happy – loud laughter coming from the kitchen is quite normal!

Amanda will be ensuring everything is well presented around the Aravis Lodge as head housekeeper. Returning for her third season with us she definitely knows one end of a washing machine from another! You can join Amanda for evening sledging or snowshoe walks - or she can be found in the bar enjoying a well-earned vodka after changeover days.
Jon is an experienced skier who will be ski hosting as well as being one of the first faces you will see when you arrive at Geneva. During the summer Jon lives in Spain with Amanda, and after 40 degree heat he is now looking forward to the cold of winter! Returning for his third season he knows Grand Bo and La Clusaz inside out – so we’re hoping to get him over to Samoens from time-to-time this year for a bit of a change!
Jack and Sheila are real fans of the Aravis region. Keen walkers, they enjoy the countryside around the village as well as the odd trip to Annecy and the surrounding area. You will probably meet them in the bar pre-dinner and they are always around to give some good advice or for a friendly chat. Stalwarts of the Lodge, we couldn't exist without them.

After going on tour with various bands and musicians over the summer Maria is glad to stay in one place for a few months and not have to sleep on a tour bus! As senior chalet host she is the ‘go-to’ person for anything you need and will ensure your holiday is the best you’ve ever had. You will also see her out on the slopes as she loves her skiing too.
Natalie first visited the lodge as a guest but decided she wanted to be a part of it as a chalet host. She now can't wait to spend more time in the mountains. Returning for her second season she is keen to improve her skiing, which came on leaps and bounds last year, and is looking forward to being able to help all our guests enjoy a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Having spent the 2011 season in Grand Bornand working in a French restaurant Fallon is keen to come back to get to know the rest of the Aravis and enjoy some more excellent skiing. Working with Maria and Nat as a chalet host she will be available to ensure you have everything you need for a great holiday.

This is Victoria’s first season in the Alps where she will be working with Amanda as chalet housekeeper in the Lodge. She’s very keen to learn to ski and excited to enjoy a new challenge working as part of our ski team. A bubbly friendly girl she loves to talk to everyone and see how your holiday is going.
A seasoned skier, Doug spent last year as a ski host in Les Arcs. He is joining us at the Lodge this season to experience the Aravis region in the role of driver/ski host, working closely with Jon. As well as a friendly face to meet you at the airport you will also love skiing with him and maybe even enjoying a pint in the bar with him afterwards too.
Dave has spent the last few months travelling, from Australia and Thailand to Cambodia and Brazil – quite a trip! He’s now looking forward to leaving the warm weather behind to spend a season here with us as our Ski Tech/Bar man. With plenty of skiing experience under his belt and a stint at Snow and Rock too he will endeavour to ensure you have a glass of wine in hand whilst he finds you the right skis for any situation!

Having worked with us on and off for the past 4 years Alex is a well known face around the Aravis Lodge. Guests will generally meet him driving them back from the airport, although it’s not unheard of to find him working in the ski room, on the slopes or in the bar too. This year he will mainly be ski hosting and driving in Samoens to ensure your holiday goes smoothly and you never need a piste map on the slopes.
Some of you may already have put two and two together to realise that Caroline runs our Chalet Caroline in Samoens. A fantastic hostess and cook with many seasons under her belt, anyone staying in the Grand Massif with us this year will enjoy her warm welcome, great food and wonderful hospitality - she’ll ensure your holiday is one to remember.
Our local handyman responsible for the fantastic new bathrooms in many of the rooms this year. Over the winter you mainly meet Ian driving our minibuses to and from the airport at the start and finish of your holiday. Be sure to pick his brains on the best skiing as he has been in the area a few years now.
