The Christmas Village

19th to 24th December 2011

Experience the magic of Christmas in the traditional village of Samoens. The fairytale decorations will provide you a Christmas like no other with family entertainment all week to ensure the festivities are not forgotten! It all comes to a head on Christmas Eve with Santa doing his rounds through the town in the evening, followed by a fireworks display and Christmas mass.

La Grand Odyssée

8th and 9th January 2012

The World’s most difficult international dog sled race comes to the Grand Massif for the first time this year. With the 22 best “mushers” in the world and a selection of over 300 Alaskan and Siberian huskies, the teams cover over 900km of mountains in the Savoie and Haute Savoie regions. An Alpine adventure dream that was brought into reality in 2005, this is an extrodinary event with an atmosphere to match.

Winegrowers’ Week

14th to 21st January 2012

What is better after a hard day of skiing than a chance to sample some of France’s finest wine? Join local wine growers as they teach you about their wine, matching food to wines and the history of wine making, not to forget the tasting of course! This event runs every night through this week, so come on down one night and enjoy some real French culture!
